Ghana Online Drivers Association have announced their intention to go on Strike due to ill-treatments by rider sharing companies in the country in May 2021.

Increased Fares
Less opportunities to bonuses
Insecurity of Drivers
Blocking of Drivers due to inactive ratings by customers
No regulations governing this companies
Etc...
According to the Drivers several complaints have been made to these companies but all attempts proved futile based on no regulatory systems available for them.
This strike action is with the intention of calling on Labour Authorities to come to the aid.
As part of the Strike action Drivers in Accra, Kumasi, Cape Coast and Takoradi have been advised to stay inactive on May 11 and 12, considering their high payments to the ride Sharing companies and later other sales to car owners as well as "work and pay" services
During a quick chat with some customers, they also expressed their immense concerns about this issue since it is going to pose lots of inconveniences to their daily movements.
