A group called the AMENFI WEST CITIZEN NETWORK has expressed their dissatisfaction with the construction of a project on the land of Asankragwa Buadum School in the Western Region.
The group alleges that the project, which is located close to Buadum Basic School, consists of stalls meant for business.
According to MR. AKWASI OFORI, the chairman of Amenfi West Citizen Network, the construction of the project on the school land began over six months ago but was halted by the group.
He claimed that group members were arrested and detained by the police after halting the project.
MR. AKWASI OFORI further stated that a meeting was called by the Amenfi West Municipal Chief Executive, but it was inconclusive regarding whether the project should continue or not.
Speaking on behalf of the pressure group, MR. AKWASI OFORI noted that there should have been community engagement before commencing the project, which did not happen.
The group insists that they will not allow the project to continue unless the community has been engaged.
