The 2025 edition of the TrueLife Experience has been officially launched in Accra.
The event aims to inspire mindset transformation and purpose-driven leadership among individuals and institutions.
The launch brought together leaders from the corporate, media, and creative industries for the unveiling of this year’s theme, “The Power of the Mind.”

The two-day experience, scheduled for November 20–21, at the Kempinski Hotel will feature keynote addresses, panel discussions, and experiential sessions focused on personal growth, leadership, and national development.
In her address, Convenor Dedo Kofi outlined the vision behind the initiative, emphasizing the role of positive thinking and mental resilience in achieving success.
“Life happens as it would, but we can still live for purpose and not excuses,” she said at the White Restaurant on October 9.

“The TrueLife Experience is about helping individuals awaken to their potential and lead meaningful lives.”
According to organizers, the event will also feature the TrueLife Honours and Legacy Dinner, which will recognize individuals and organizations that have demonstrated excellence, resilience, and impact in their fields.

The Convener noted that the initiative aligns with Ghana’s broader efforts to encourage productivity and mindset reform, referencing the government’s ASPIRE 24 framework as an example of policies seeking to promote a culture of innovation and responsibility.
A statement from the organizers explained that the TrueLife Experience builds on the legacy of earlier initiatives such as TrueLife Magazine and the TrueLife Campus Conference, expanding their mission to reach a wider audience through practical engagement and thought leadership.

The 2025 edition, organizers say, seeks to provide a platform for participants to exchange ideas, share experiences, and develop strategies for driving change within their communities.
The TrueLife Experience is expected to attract professionals, students, policymakers, and creatives interested in personal development and leadership transformation.

The Madina District Court has formally discharged Daniel Owusu Koranteng, the lead suspect in the 2019 murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
The decision followed a submission by the prosecutor, Chief Inspector Nana Afua Bamfoa Bamfo, who informed the court that the Attorney-General had advised discontinuing the case during proceedings on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
The ruling implies that the prosecution’s evidence did not meet the threshold required to sustain charges of abetment of murder and murder against the accused. The Attorney-General’s opinion, based on a detailed review of the police docket, concluded that the call records presented as evidence were inconclusive and failed to establish any direct or circumstantial connection between Mr Koranteng and the crime.

Furthermore, sketches generated by the police from eyewitness descriptions reportedly bore no resemblance to the accused.
Acting on the Attorney-General’s directive, the prosecution has been instructed to redirect investigative efforts towards identifying and apprehending the two unidentified gunmen who carried out the attack and remain at large six years after the incident.
Chief Inspector Bamfoa informed the court that, following the Attorney-General’s advice, her instructions were to request the discharge of the accused.

The court’s decision marks a significant legal and moral victory for Mr Koranteng, who has consistently maintained his innocence throughout the investigation. It reinforces the legal principle that an accused person is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has urged the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) to continue strengthening its regulatory capacity to stay ahead of industry developments.
Speaking during his visit to the NPA on Wednesday, October 15, Mr Jinapor observed that the petroleum industry often advances faster than regulation, but assured that this would no longer be the case.
“Historically, the industry has often been ahead of the regulator. But let me assure you: this time, it will be different,” he declared.

He said government is determined to empower the NPA through law, policy, and human capacity development to ensure it remains an agile and responsive regulator.
“We are determined to empower the NPA to stay ahead through law, policy, systems, and human capacity,” he said.

The Minister commended the Authority’s leadership and staff for their professionalism, describing their role as critical to Ghana’s energy stability.
“Every time you enforce a safety standard, monitor a price, or protect a consumer, you are upholding the integrity of our entire energy sector,” he noted.
Mr Jinapor emphasised that the Ministry would continue supporting the NPA to build a “strong, adaptive, and respected” regulatory institution capable of meeting the demands of a changing energy landscape.

The Catholic Church in Peru has been rocked by scandal after one of its bishops resigned following revelations that he was romantically involved with several women—seventeen, to be exact.
Ciro Quispe Lopez, the 51-year-old bishop of Juli, tendered his resignation to Pope Leo after a Vatican investigation uncovered evidence that he had been secretly dating multiple women at once. His resignation came more than two decades earlier than bishops usually retire, raising eyebrows across Peru’s religious community.
The story reads like a mix between a church drama and a telenovela. The investigation reportedly began after Kevin Moncada, a journalist from the Peruvian newspaper Sin Fronteras, discovered that Bishop Lopez had been exchanging explicit messages, photos, and videos with different women. Things took a shocking turn when the bishop accidentally sent some of these images—intended for his mistresses—to his house cleaner.
Alarmed, the cleaner filed a complaint with the Church, alleging that she had often seen women’s hair in his shower and found “stained sheets” while cleaning his room. That’s when the Vatican stepped in.
According to Peruvian journalist Paola Ugaz, who has seen documents from the Vatican’s investigation, the scandal got even messier when jealousy among the bishop’s lovers sparked a chain of leaks. “A nun who was one of Quispe’s lovers was jealous of a lawyer the bishop was also seeing and sent information about his affairs to a third lover who got into a fight with the lawyer,” Ugaz told The Times. “It was a real soap opera, but also lifted the lid on a serious abuse of power. Many of the 17 women were too scared to come forward because they were frightened of him.”
Kevin Moncada added more context: “In April of last year, we received information that one of the bishop’s alleged lovers had practically come to blows with another young woman. That was the trigger. The case came to light because the women found out that the bishop was dating several of them at the same time, and that infuriated them.”
Despite the mounting evidence, Bishop Quispe Lopez insists he is innocent and claims he is the victim of a defamation campaign orchestrated by “dark hands.” But with the Vatican’s findings and his resignation now public, the damage seems to have been done.
For now, the Church has yet to announce who will replace the disgraced bishop, but one thing is clear: this scandal has left the Peruvian Catholic community stunned—and left many questioning how something so salacious could unfold behind holy walls.
The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has confirmed that the Ghana Grid Company Ltd. (GRIDCo)’s 161kV Aboadze–Tarkwa transmission line has been damaged, potentially affecting power supply in parts of the Western and Ashanti Regions.
According to the Ministry, a maintenance team has already been dispatched to the site to begin urgent repair works.
In a statement issued in Accra, the Ministry said, “The maintenance team has been swiftly deployed and is currently at the location, working diligently to repair the line as quickly as possible.”
It added that technical assessments were ongoing to determine the extent of the damage and restore full transmission capacity in the shortest possible time.

The Ministry further noted that the incident could lead to temporary disruptions in electricity supply, particularly in Kumasi and Tarkwa.
“The analysis also highlights the possibility of power supply disruption in parts of the Western and Ashanti Regions within this short period, precisely Kumasi and Tarkwa,” the statement explained.
While expressing regret for the inconvenience caused, the Ministry assured the public of its commitment to resolving the issue promptly.
“We wish to assure the general public that every effort is being made to repair the damage and normalise the situation,” it said, adding, “The Ministry deeply regrets any inconvenience this may cause and remains committed to ensuring reliable power supply across the country.”

The final whistle blew at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium on October 14, 2025, and Victor Osimhen had just completed a stunning hat-trick in Nigeria’s 4-0 demolition of Benin.
The Super Eagles had done everything asked of them—dominating their opponents and scoring four beautiful goals. Yet, as the players celebrated, news filtered through from Nelspruit: South Africa had defeated Rwanda 3-0.
The mathematics was cruel but simple. After nearly two years of qualifying matches, Nigeria’s fate would not be decided by their own brilliance, but by the slimmest of margins.
Nigeria’s campaign has been mixed, featuring several draws and key wins. On Matchday 6 (March 2025), the Super Eagles were held 1–1 at home by Zimbabwe, a disappointing result that slowed their progress.
Meanwhile, South Africa defeated Benin 2–0 to stay on top of the group. In September 2025, Nigeria drew 1–1 away to South Africa at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein, a result that slightly eased pressure but left the team needing wins in their final matches. Days later, they secured a crucial 1–0 home victory over Rwanda in Uyo to boost their qualification hopes.

The Super Eagles continued their push in October 2025, beating Lesotho 2–1 away, with goals from William Troost-Ekong (penalty) and Akor Adams. That win kept their qualification hopes alive heading into the final round.
On 14 October 2025, Nigeria ended their group campaign in style, thrashing Benin 4–0 in Uyo. Victor Osimhen scored a brilliant hat trick, while Frank Onyeka added the fourth. The result lifted Nigeria to second place in Group C on goal difference, tied with Benin on 17 points, earning them a spot in the CAF playoff round.

When the dust settled on October 14, Nigeria finished second in Group C with 17 points from 10 matches—just one point behind South Africa’s 18.

The campaign statistics speak volumes:
Those five draws stand as the central problem. Against teams like Lesotho and Rwanda—and even at home vs Zimbabwe—Nigeria needed to convert draws into wins. Instead, they repeatedly settled for stalemates.

South Africa, by contrast, pulled off five victories in the same group. Their ability to grind out results in tight matches gave them the edge. Benin also matched 17 points but lost out on goal difference, while Rwanda, Zimbabwe, and Lesotho filled out the bottom three with 11, 9, and 7 points, respectively.

The four teams that have secured spots in the CAF playoff tournament (to decide Africa’s final route) are Cameroon, DR Congo, Gabon, and Nigeria. These were the best runners-up across CAF’s nine groups.
CAF has confirmed that Morocco will host the playoff tournament. The schedule is set as follows:

The intercontinental playoff will take place during the FIFA window 23–31 March 2026, where six teams from different confederations will compete for two remaining World Cup berths.
The format:
Thus, Africa could field up to 10 teams at the 2026 World Cup — 9 through automatic qualification, plus 1 via the intercontinental playoff.

This campaign brings deep disappointment for Nigerian football. The Super Eagles have qualified for six FIFA World Cups since 1994. Missing back-to-back tournaments would be a blow to their legacy.
Given their roster—Osimhen, players in top European leagues, and a strong supporting cast—the expectations were higher. But inconsistency, inability to win winnable games, and an overreliance on Osimhen’s goals cost them dearly.

Now the playoffs are their final lifeline. Success here demands mental resilience, tactical discipline, and urgent improvement in attacking support. The Super Eagles certainly have the talent. But knockout football is merciless. Any slip could end their 2026 dream.
For now, the answer to “Did Nigeria qualify for the 2026 World Cup?” is: not yet.
But their journey continues — and their legacy may depend on what they do in Morocco this November.
Spokesperson for Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s 2026 campaign, Pius Enam Hadzide, has dismissed suggestions that former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is already a marketable candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Hadzide described the argument as “a very light one,” insisting that being a familiar face does not automatically guarantee electoral victory.
“If that were the case, Dr. Bawumia would have won the previous election,” he said.
“He was a running mate long before becoming the flagbearer, and after years of visibility, he still didn’t win. What matters is what the voter wants, not how long someone has been known.”
The former Deputy Information Minister argued that political parties should not repeat candidates simply for the sake of it, but rather base their choices on performance and hard work.
“There are people who aspired for the presidency once and won. Repeating a candidate should depend on merit, not convenience,” he added.

Nairobi, Kenya, 13th October 2025 – Yango Group, a UAE-based tech company, has announced a new investment in Zanifu, a leading Kenyan fintech platform that provides access to working capital for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). In addition to funding, Yango Group will support Zanifu in shaping its long-term business structure and growth strategy — drawing on the Group’s operational experience across more than 30 markets. The investment underscores Yango’s commitment to supporting the growth of high-potential startups in Africa.
Zanifu has established itself as a vital enabler for small businesses by offering embedded lending solutions that help SMEs purchase inventory, manage cash flow, and scale sustainably. The company has already financed 15,000 SMEs, disbursing tens of millions of dollars in loans, and continues to demonstrate the transformative role of fintech in empowering local economies.
“Zanifu is working on exactly what we care about — building tools that help other businesses grow. By giving thousands of SMEs real access to capital, the team is enabling them to expand and succeed. We’re excited to bring our experience and expertise to help scale a business that’s delivering real impact to local communities,” said Daniil Shuleyko, CEO of Yango Group.
The investment was made through Yango Ventures, a corporate venture fund that was launched earlier this year with an initial $20 million fund targeting early-stage startups across Africa, LATAM, and MENAP. The fund focuses on high-growth sectors such as O2O services, B2B SaaS, and FinTech, offering not just investment but also access to Yango’s global expertise, networks, and operational support.
The Zanifu investment marks a significant step for Yango Ventures, strengthening its role as a catalyst for innovation and economic empowerment in Africa’s dynamic startup ecosystem.
