Zoom Lion Unveils New Trucks For Waste Management

Zoom lion Ghana today Tuesday, 8th June 2021 unveiled new trucks for waste management at the black star square.

In attendance were the President of the republic, ministers of states, minister of greater Accra, minister of local government, minister of sanitation and water resources ,board members of zoom lion, traditional Religious leaders.

The president of the republic, Nana Addo addressed the waste management in the country. He said rapid population growth is consequently increasing human activities both residential and industries level, which has made the waste generation to continue to be a challenge in the country.

He said, currently 7,517,5014 trucks waste has been generated to manage the waste situation in the country.

He therefore encourage private sectors to collaborate with the government to create business opportunities in the waste management space such as; waste to energy , material for recycling and composing..

He added that, government will continue to create an enabling environment where private sector players will have opportunity to help p sustain waste management in the country and he will remain committed in  achieving the developmental objectives as well target on the United nation(UN) sustainability goals; health under goal 3, waste and management under goal 6, decent work and economic goal under goal 8 and sustainable cities and community under goal 11 and climate change under goal 13.

His excellency gladly stated that, he is collaborating with the group  companies of which zoom lion is part to set up 16 state of the act integrating recycling and composing plants in all sixteen(16)  regions of the country and a good positive intervention which will go a long way to help manage waste effectively in the country.

However, as indicated in the state of the nations address this year by the president,  for the construction of waste facilities is on the course and various stages of development in different regions. He made it known that , the citing of those infrastructure in the regions comes  with the companies benefit such as creating employment , improving on social amenities such as; good road and portable and help improve on our  domestic economy .

He commended zoom lion Ghana for their good work so far and encouraged them to  support government to make the country clean and achieve the clean Ghana objective.

He urged everyone to support the population census by ensuring that they avail themselves to take part in the counting on Sunday 27th June , 2021.
