GRIDCO ACCEPTS BLAMES OVER TUESDAY NIGHT DUMSOR

The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCO) has accepted the blame over the last Tuesday night Dumsor which occurred in some part of the country and has also apologize to the general public.

Some part of Accra, Western and Northern Ghana were affected by the outage  as a result of low current.

The Ghana Grid Company Limited explained that, the power outage was by a system failure of its transmission lines in the west tripped, together with all generating units at Aboadze, Bui, Asogli, Kpone and the Kpong generating station.

According to GRIDCO, the tripple lines were restored within three minutes but it took some time for some thermal generating units to restart resulting from long outage.

They also assured the general public that, it will continue to work with other stakeholders to provide adequate supply to the consumers.

The Power Distribution Service (PDS) on the other hand said the outage experience in the western and central part of Accra was due to technical upstream.

The company said the power to Mallam and graphic Bulk Supply Points (BSPs) was curtailed as a result of technical challenges.
