FMR. NDC CHAIRMAN WAS DOWNHEARTED OVER FRAILTY IN THE PARTY -RAWLINGS
The Founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) , former president John Jerry Rawlings has paid tribute to former NDC chairman, Dr Kwabena Adjei, describing him as A very brawny impassioned man who lives his sentence.
The former president said he had a great deal of respect for Dr Adjei because he stood for his beliefs and was not materialistic.
Explaining the late Adjei as a fighter during a call on his family at his Agboba residence in the suburb of Accra on Monday ,former President Rawlings said the deceased was how ever very sad and downhearted about a lot of things.
“Adjei was downhearted in terms of our down frailty as a party. He was downhearted about the politics of our party and the fact that it has been held captive .He was hurt about the loss of the value systems of the party ” Flt Lt Jerry said.
An alliance of the former president, and good friend of Dr Adjei, Dr Anthony Dzegede who knew him from his Nigeria days said it was only natural that Dr Adjei became politician.
Dr Dzegede described the late Adjei as a genius with intelligent ideas and of entertaining suggestion.
The late Dr Adjei served as party chairman from 2005 to 2014 ,prior to that he had a rich political history, serving in several departments under the PNDC and NDC governments.
Rawlings’s later urged the family to be strong and united during this strenuous period and expressed the hope that his children will impact his fighting spirit into generations.
