The Ghana Police Service has dismissed widespread rumours claiming that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has passed away.

The Ghana Police Service has dismissed widespread rumours claiming that the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has passed away.

In a statement issued on Sunday, November 30, 2025, reacting to reports circulating on social media claiming that, Ghana’s IGP has passed.The police administration described the claim as “false“.

According to the Police, the IGP is alive and in good health,carrying out his duties as expected. The public, officers of the Service, and the IGP’s family have been urged to ignore the reports.

The statement also cautioned individuals spreading the false information, describing the act as malicious and reckless.

The Police warned that disinformation is an offense and that anyone found responsible will face the law.
