‘COVID-19 WIDENS GAP BETWEEN THE RICH AND POOR’-CHRISTIAN DONKOR
COVID-19 widens-up the gap between the rich and the poor. Most people thus, the rich will never be affected even if the President, Nana Addo-Danquah-Akuffo Addo decides to lock down the country for even 100 years since they are well to do people with their businesses compared to the vulnerable in the country, Chartered Accountant, Christian Donkor revealed this in an interview with Alhaji Irbard Ibrahim on the maiden edition of Kantanka TV’s morning show “Fontomfrom”.
According to Christian Donkor, the population of the vulnerable in the country is far greater than the rich population which creates a great gap between them in terms of their wealth. The poor get to work extra hard to close up the gap with the rich after the partial lock down in the country.
He further said, lifting the lock down after three weeks of partial lock down was a difficult thing for the president to do considering the fact that Ghana is a developing country and has more vulnerable people than the rich.
He reiterated that if the president should have extended the lockdown, the country would have recorded more dead cases than the rate at which COVID-19 kills.
