I Was Not Part Of Kwasi Appiah’s Plan – Asamoah Gyan
General captain for the Black Stars of Ghana Asamoah Gyan has stated emphatically that he was not part of Coach James Kwasi Appiah’s plan for AFCON 2019 in Egypt.
Prior to the tournament, Gyan was stripped off his captaincy position which was handed over to Andre Ayew who happens to be the son of the Maestro Abedi Ayew Pele due to alleged prophecies surrounding the team and as to who to captain the Black Stars.
The Black Stars of Ghana had their worse performance at the 2019 AFCON for the past Ten(10) years. They exited the competition in the round 16 stage after loosing to the Carthage Eagle’s of Tunisia on Penalties.
Asamoah Gyan in an interview with Papa Maestro who happens to be the spokes person for the General Captain on Asempa Fm stated that, he believe he wasn’t part of Coach Kwasi Appiah’s plan for the just ended AFCON in Egypt. He further stated that this is the only AFCON where by he always start from the bench and to some extent doesn’t play at all.
The Black Stars will start their next qualifier matches towards AFCON 2021 in Cameroon coming September 2019.
