Japhet’s intension was to make the people of his contry and Ghanaians proud but lost in the early stages of the battle. He landed the first pummel but could not end the game with joy. The boxer was found under pressure in all stages of the game. Wasiru promised to keep waving high his flag for Ghana, leading to the defeat of his Tanzanian opponent in a tremendous way in the round of 11 stage knocking his opponent down to discontinue the fight.
Wasiru Mohammed popularly known as Gyatabi in an interview with Kantanka Sports said,” first of all i would like to thank my management, my coach Professor Azumah Nelson, I won this fight because it’s the will of God not by my power and i will continue to work hard so i can win more titles for Ghana like Azumah Nelson did.
I cannot do this without the prayers of Ghanaians; hopefully it shall come to pass with your help”. WBO African President, Captain Samir afterward also stated, “ Knocking out your opponent in the ring does not make you the best boxer but when you defeat boxers who have good track records in boxing then you can call yourself a champion”. Loren Japhet has exposed Wasiru in this bout for us to know his flaw because fighting a good boxer like Japhet has made us known Wasiru is not too good and therefore needs more training reach the height he is much expected to”. My advise to every Ghanaian boxer is that, they should learn to respect, train hard with determination and be focused in their boxing career and they would become world champions forever. He told Kantanka Sports.
